Strengths/Abilities
Magic Apprentice: Matthias can cast simple healing and barrier spells, however, the barriers don’t last any longer than ten seconds and the healing spells only heal minor injuries like bruises or cuts. Using these also require a lot of energy to be expended from him, which can cause him to pass out if used en masse.
Fast: Matthias was the top runner in his Underground Monster Class in the Female division. He ran the 100m in 10.98.
Family Strength: Matthias’ family bloodline is linked to ancient Orcs, which had much higher strength than Matthias. As much as he hates it, however, he still has the equivalent strength a Human heavyweight boxer.
Inabilities/Weaknesses
Social Awkwardness: After coming out as Transexual to his family, he was forcibly removed from their household. Only Matthias’ grandmother was willing to offer help, by packing more essentials than his family had initially. However, the experience of suddenly being alone was enough to induce a constant anxiousness in him.
Not an actual “Windrider”: Matthias, for as fast as he is, cannot actually ride the wind.
Speech Difficulties: Matthias is taking classes to learn Human speech, but he has yet to be able to apply it to anything outside of his job.
Short for an Orc: Matthias’ height is around 5’ 8”, compared to his little sister's height, which is 6’ 6”.
Personality
Matthias is a very quiet person, who doesn’t speak his mind very often to just anyone. He is also a very passionate person. This means if someone brings up something he’s interested in, he can talk about it for days on end. Matthias also doesn’t like his family’s extensive strength, and he tries to use it as little as he possibly can. His preferred methods of conflict resolution are diplomacy and complete isolation before violence.
Life Story
Matthias was born and raised as Rilug Magecaster in a modern form of a “tribe” underground. Not only was his hair color artificially pigmented pink from birth. He was taught to speak the old Orcish language and learned basic magic powers from the “Elder”. However, Rilug felt “out of place”. So, on now Matthias’ 18th birthday, they came out to their “tribe”. It was met with general rejection and banishment from the large house they all lived in. After retrieving his things, as well as a few essentials, plus a photo and more essentials from his more open-minded grandmother, he traveled across the Underground, from his home to Snowdin, then to the Echo Flower lakes, to the Core where he received a scar on his left cheek, and at last, the Barrier. They crossed without even a second thought. His new life began with getting a job, which he got at a city close to the Barrier. He now works as a Barista in a coffee shop chain, getting a little over minimum wage and living in a one bedroom apartment across the street from the shop. His ultimate goal is to have a full transition into his desired male form, which has been helped by gifts of binders, testosterone pills and donations to him.
Sample Roleplay
Matthias was yawning all the way through the lunch rush, serving midday coffee(which made him suddenly understand why people needed it this late) and lunches nonstop for two hours. Finally, the person who Matthias and they both knew was SUPPOSED to be there to help with the lunch rush arrived, which allowed Matthias to leave early. The coffee shop where he worked was surprisingly popular, despite it being small and also staffed by mostly humans, except for Matthias. He knew that his boss hated monsters, but liked his image more than he was racist against people like Matthias. At least his coworkers didn’t seem to mind much. Most of them were teenagers, the same as him. They were more open minded than his boss, which Matthias respected.
Crossing the dangerous downtown street and trotting up the metal steps, Matthias stopped on the fifth floor and let himself into his apartment. There was no pet to greet him as he entered and took off his shoes and sweaty, used binder from under his work shirt. All of his colleagues suggested he should get one, he knew he couldn’t afford to keep an animal alive, let alone himself half the time. So, after a surprisingly warm shower and a package of ramen noodles, Matthias sat down to rest his legs and eyes. As soon as he did, though, as luck would have it, a knocking came to his door.
He scurried to grab some pants and put them on before throwing a blanket over his half-bound torso. At last, he opened the door to find a weekly care package from the Humans Helping Monsters Suffrage Group. Matthias smiled lightly, taking the package inside and closing the door behind him.
“At least someone does their job on time.” And he thought he could hear a distant voice saying “At me next time, bro!” Matthias chuckled to himself as he finally sat down without interruptions.
