BRITANNIA; 1026 A.D.The war against magic has torn the realm apart. With the selfishness and greed of once man, the power and glory Logres once was has faded. The kingdom is now a shadow of its former greatness. Sadly, King Uther's death was not enough to mend the broken bonds between muggles and wizardkind throughout the kingdom. King Arthur Pendragon is the newly crowned king and the true heir to the throne, having pulled the sword from the stone. His true identity had been a mystery not only to himself but to those that had raised him. Though, it had become clear to Arthur's foster father, Lord Ector de Maris, that Arthur had been Uther's son all along.
Arthur must separate fact from fiction and himself from those that would use him and to their advantage. The king is uncertain if magic is as treacherous as his father had believed. Arthur cannot help feeling guilty over the divergence of the kingdom as his birth is partly to blame. However, those closest to the crown know that it was Uther's avarice that destroyed allies, ruined friendships, and tore apart families. For now, magic is still outlawed throughout the kingdom and those that practice do so in secret. The punishment for practicing magic is imprisonment, trial, and potential execution. Though, during Uther's reign, the accused did not have the privilege of a trial.
Hogwarts School still continues to conduct classes and educate young witches and wizards despite the possible consequences. The founder's magic is strong enough to protect the school from muggle forces or even Pict invaders. While the founders and their allies desire peace, they will not cease. Hogwarts is still a safe haven for muggles accused of witchcraft, though it is a great risk to allow non-magic people into the school. Was Slytherin right? Will their pity and mercy be the school's downfall?
When will the world learn that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be?
