Toriel took a deep breath. It had been ages since her and Asgore had spoken. This had been something she had wanted to do but for now but had never built up the bravery to do so. She had sent her husband a message to meet her here in the forest. Away from the humans prying eyes. After the issues popping back up she didn't want anyone to suspect her.
She couldn't help it as she paced slowly. Reaching up to itch one of her horns nervously. What if he didn't even show up? What if he didn't care anymore. or even worse what if he really was behind everything with the humans? It was worth putting her life on the line to try and see him again. She could only hope that all would go well in this meeting.

Asgore couldn't help but be confused when a text message from Toriel appeared on his phone earlier that afternoon. He was excited, though. It was the first time she had made an effort to contact him -- without going through Frisk or Undyne -- since they had first come onto the surface. He wondered what ever she could need. But he knew her well, better than even she might know. If they were meeting alone, then something was desperately, desperately wrong.
He dressed in his usual kingly outfit. His golden armor and cape, as well as the trident hidden behind his figure. And soon enough, he set out into the woods, walking to the location that Toriel had set for them, scaring off any animals along the way with a snort and a glare. He was like a giant walking bull, after all. It wasn't hard to get wild animals to leave him alone when he was in a hurry, as much as he'd like to stop to pet them. He did feel a little bad though, for scaring them.
But Toriel was more important than his feelings for the adorable forest creatures. He stepped out into the clearing, and he saw her. His breath caught in his throat for a moment. He looked at her, staring into her eyes. Those beautiful golden eyes that used to stare at him with such love so long ago... oh, how he longed for those days to return. He waved his glowing trident a bit to get her attention. "Tory?" He asked, stepping closer. "Is everything okay? Are you all right?" He immediately asked again, wanting to make sure she was okay before she talked with him.
If Toriel studied closely, she would notice a distinct addition of musculature and lack of fat on his body. Asgore had been hitting the gym recently.

Toriel was nervous to say the least. Taking a deep breath as her husband came though some brush calling her nick-name. She couldn't help but smile. She had loved him so very long ago and still held a place for him in her heart. Taking a step tward him to let him know she as not afraid of him but yet she didn't run to him either. "Yes, I am okay. What about you? Are you okay?" The last thing she wanted to do was to try and jump down his throat and start asking questions.
Seeing him look stronger filled her with determination. He must have been going to the gym and working out. While Toriel had been eatting her snails and keeping up with her magic. She had not gained any weight but she was not as muscular as Asgor and probably never would be.
She couldn't take it anymore and would slowly make her way to Asgor to give him a soft little nuzzle. Nose to nose. She was very much a mother and willing to forgive him but the trust would be hard to earn back. "You look well.."

Toriel stated she was okay, and that made Asgore sigh in relief a little. He always did worry about her. About all monsters. It was just in his nature to be protective and caring if he could, even if he didn't like fighting. Not that he'd never fought before. He'd had his fair share of battles. He recalled the days when Toriel and himself were mere chidren, sparring with each other with their magic. And the day he had gotten on one knee and asked her to marry him. That was the happiest day of his life, only second to the birth of his son, Asriel. Oh, how he missed Asriel. He missed his son so much.
"Of course, yes, I'm fine." Asgore stated as she got closer, answering her question. Then she did something he hadn't expected. Her nose touched his, and he froze for a moment, before smiling, nuzzling his nose against hers in return. An arm reached around, and would grip Toriel around her back, just above her behind, pulling her closer. It felt so nice to have her in his arms again. She said he looked well, and he chuckled. "As do you, my love..." He stated once more, seemlingly forgetting the boundries Toriel had set.
