*'cause someone really cares about you. Fifteen stories up and watching the sun set. The garden was pretty barren, which was strange. Sans had been to the same garden several times with plenty of people on dates or just hanging out with friends but tonight was different. The skeleton had planted himself at a table between the safety wall and an elegantly filled planter along the north side of the building. He casually was leaned with his right elbow on the table and hand propping up his skull as he scanned the garden. There were perhaps two or three people around, maybe a few more behind foliage and out of his sight but he doubted there was more than five lurking about.
Sans figured it was everyone worrying about the recent attacks on humans. It seemed the humans thought it was monsters, specifically either the king or prince. He tapped his left index finger on the table and looked out over the edge at the tower across the street. He knew it couldn't be a monster but something more akin to a demon, maybe? He closed his eyesockets for a moment before finding himself starting to doze off.

After Chara had gotten out, she had been majorly confused. It had been a long time since she had last seen the surface but she didn’t remember it being how it was now. Had she been gone for this long?
Oh well, she might as well just explore the place. It had taken her a while to get down the mountain, through the forest and in the city.
The streets looked different… nobody seemed to remember her. Good… they wouldn’t see it coming… she was thinking what to do to destroy humanity. Doing it the old-fashioned way would take her too long and she would risk being detected… humans were stronger than monsters.

*You feel your sins crawling on your back.
247 Words The skeleton wasn't dozing for long. Something woke him. Something unsettlingly familiar. He sat up and looked around, whatever it was, it wasn't on the roof. No, it was below on the street. He stood, carelessly pushing his chair out of the way as he took hold of the guard wall and leaned over to look. There, below, an ant of a figure with that all too familiar gait. His hands clenched into fists. All the resets, all the pain. How many times had he watched his brother die by the hands of that thing? How many times did Sans himself die? He remembered every encounter; he had fought to save the surface. When they escaped the underground with Frisk's help, he had assumed that creature was gone. Was Chara the murderer everyone was fearful of?
He turned away from the edge only to appear in an alley below, out of Chara's sight. He leaned out slightly and watched her with severe prejudice while pulling up his hood. Was she back to start her genocide? It was a very slim chance that she was going to behave, but he seriously doubted she would. There were not going to be any more resets or mindless murders if he had any say in the matter. All he needed was a chance to confront her without any humans around. While he was not fond of them for his own reasons, it didn't mean he wished harm on anyone of them.

The demon girl casually continued walking through the streets. Nobody paid attention to her. She was in a city after all… and the people here were no superstitious villagers… so nobody seemed to have a problem with her red eyes. Perfect! Now she just had to find a place to stay, something to eat and plan a good way to take her revenge on humanity. First she would find her old home village and take care of everybody who had made her life hell. Then… something felt wrong suddenly. The murderer felt eyes on her. Followed by the feeling of being stalked… oh well, did she find her first victim already? It was about time…
As much as she liked putting an end to basically everything right now, she couldn’t wait to have human blood on her hands. And that made it more problematic. She would have to dispose of the bodies… unlike monsters she wouldn’t be able to get rid of that trails with a broom. The murderer was walking into a desolate park with a small lake. What a peaceful place… serenity only disturbed by the wind howling through the leaves… Chara slowly turned around to look at her follower.
Her facial expression was void of any emotion. What was that comedian doing here? Oh right, the monsters had gone missing after she had taken what belongs to her.
So here he was… she would dispose of him first if all went like she wanted… but something seemed off… he looked… different if you asked her.
They were alone now and since Chara was so polite, she would remain silent. Well, Sans, if you had to say something, you could do it now.

341 They were leading him somewhere. But where? He kept his distance and remained out of sight as she made her way through the city. The skeleton used his shortcuts to move from place to place and limit the chances of being spotted by the demon child or any civilians. After some time of stalking, she had brought him to an empty park with a small pond in the center of it and nowhere for him to hide. So, he was there, out in the open as she turned to face the judgment.
They stood watching each other in silence for some time. His empty eyesockets eerily staring ahead at the "human" and stance slightly slouched but unmoving. Until Sans finally broke the silence from beneath his hood "* i honestly thought i could have a happy ending this time but you just had to come back didn't you?" His normal laid back tone was gone, and he spoke with a bitter tone. * how 'bout ya make it easy this time and go down without a fight."
With a slight shift in his weight, his blasters appeared to surround Chara only pausing for a moment to charge before the barrage started. He wasn't going to give them the chance to talk their way out of it this time. He would go all-out right at the beginning as he had while trying to keep the demon sealed in the underground. The skeleton didn't care if Chara was unarmed or what humans would think; he was doing them a huge favor by taking time out of what was a good evening by attempting to take out the demon before him.
In the back of his mind, he knew that Chara couldn't be the murderer. Yes, they were a heartless creature with a high LOVE level, but they didn't have the magic to grow the flowers found on the victims' bodies. Still, he wasn't going to wait to find out what they were up to.

There he was, looking at her. Oh, he wanted his happy ending? She would give him a happy ending. A form where he never had to worry about anything anymore: As a pile of dust.
A smirk covered her face when Sans went straight to the point and started attacking. Chara had fought him so many times, she dodged his first wave of attacks with ease by just concentrating on dodging. If she knew one thing, it was that skeleton dork didn’t have much stamina. Also that whoever would notice this fight, would come to her aid. After all, Sans was a monster. Chara was a human (well, if you only looked at her outward appearance), so they would come to her aid. In fact… if she dodged for a while, it would make it easier for her to stab him… She felt the hilt with her knife she carried underneath her sweater.

208 Naturally his first barrage of attacks missed but he didn't let up, changing his past attack pattern to something more unpredictable. Instead of giving the demon colliding bone columns that could be dodged with practice he threw a mixture of attacks. Circling blasters all aimed at his target spewing seeming unending rays of death as they phased out quickly and appeared in the next spot with raising a blanket of soul-damaging bones out of the ground. The skeleton had never tried the attack pattern before, but he knew he had to do something different if he wanted to win, this creature already knew his other strategy by heart or lack thereof. Along with the change of pace, he knew that he wouldn't last nearly as long as before. He was putting every ounce of power he had into the attacks. * come on, do you really want to mess this up for everyone again?Sans knew that talking probably would result in no response, it never had, but he would at least try. There was one timeline where he was able to convince it to stop, though that resulted in him backstabbing the kid and he probably wouldn't get away with it a second time. *on days like these, kids like you...Should be burning in hell

The park was normally a place of serenity and peace in an otherwise urban sprawl that was modern life, but not today. No sooner had Winter rounded the corner of trees than she was greeted with a sight that gave her reason to pause - a kid in a striped sweater was dodging attacks from a skeleton... There was no denying that the city was a weird place, where strange things were prone to happening, but for once her running around with a camera and 'bird watching' seemed normal by comparison. Whatever the case, it needed to stop and glancing at the lake near them quickly gave her an idea. Winter decided to put her foot down, literally, side stepping onto the water that froze the moment it came into contact and thrusting a wall of ice between the pair to stop the fighting. "That will be enough of that. I don't know what you two think you're doing, but it's illegal to brawl in a public park." Winter informed in steady tone, stepping carefully across the frozen ice as though it were the sidewalk given the amount of grace she displayed. One might have almost mistaken her as human, if not for the unusual trick. Nevertheless, Winter seemed content to keep her distance, walking around them rather than directly towards them. Something about this whole scene didn't make sense. There was no reason for a monster to attack a human, sure, despite the recent case that had people up in arms, Winter wasn't one to jump to conclusions and no stranger to a set up. However, there was something about the kid that bothered her, not in the least because they were fingering something under the shirt, a possible weapon, if she were to guess. That didn't bode well, but until she could get a better grasp on the situation, all she could hope to do was have cooler heads prevail - no pun intended. @ Chara, Sans, & Aesop MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Bored, bored, bored...and even more bored was a way to describe Aesop's feelings right now. He's been jumping from random place to another to find something entertaining. Since he had infinite choices to go he might as well look at his options. He found a nice shadowy tree to slip from behind to find himself in the public gardens. It looked really peaceful..except for what looked like a brawl was going down between a...kid and a walking skeleton in a hoodie? Interests were indeed peeked but before he could watch more the fight was stopped by a wall of, ice? "Woah..this I got to see." He started to walk towards them opposite of the girl freezing things looking around at all the nearby shadows if things got ugly for him to.
"Woah, is this a lover's quarrel or you two didn't want to share the same shade?" He looked at the kid and arched his brow, though he didn't like humans all to well either it was just a kid, what harm could they do?

Chara dodged and dodged but even with all that memorization and her quick reflexes, she couldn’t prevent taking hits. Thankfully those were minor. She protected her face and body with her arms. These were a bruised when the icy wall suddenly cut the two of them of.
Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw that wall. She couldn’t remember one single monster that was able to do that… now who was this human up on that wall?
Whoever it was, it was Chara’s ticket out of here. In her memory, Sans was lazy and got exhausted very quickly. Combining that with that ice wall and the fact that he would probably try to explain himself, she could get him off her trail.
When another human arrived and asked what was going on: ”He… he…” that actually sounded like Chara was terrified. She even let a tear come out one of her eyes before stepping backwards. ”He’s insane!” then she turned around and jolted away…
So many things she had learned today: Sans was here and knew who she was. Humans seemed to be able to manipulate water.
Nobody would be following her, right?

He was managing to get some hits on the child, that was good. His tactic of mixing up his attacks was throwing them off a little. It wasn't enough though. He prepared to turn the demon child blue when he noticed someone step onto the pond. Wait onto? He was distracted for just a split second, his blasters vanishing and magic bones sinking back into the ground just as a wall of ice flew from the pond. He jumped back to put a little bit of distance between himself and the wall. Honestly he was just a little bit relieved that there was a short break to the fight. It gave him time to gain back just a small bit of the massive amount of lost stamina. On the other side, another person approached. A tall lanky man who looked utterly bored and making a joke about them being lovers. Sans could appreciate a good joke.
* we're chill.
He told the two. Then he heard the child speak. It spoke?! That was a first. It had never talked to him before. It was accusing him of being insane while putting on what sounded like a victimized child act followed by running. No! He couldn't let Chara get away too much was at stake. Everyone's happiness would be ruined further if they got away. But with the two others there, they might get injured in the fight. He had to risk it. He teleported to the side of the wall Chara was on before summoning a blaster and putting what was left of his energy into the attack. He had to end it quickly before the demon could get away and begin it's genocide again. Explanations could come later.

Noting the bored young man, Winter believed that she was prepared for anything that could happen if things went south, but she was proven very wrong as she struggled not to crack a smile at the pun. 'Oh dear God, don't laugh!' She continued to repeat as a hand rose to her face in dismay and mostly to cover up the amusement that threatened to show. It wasn't the first time that Winter had heard an ice pun in her life, but not from a talking skeleton and not in the middle of such a serious situation. To her surprise, it was the kid that soon spoke up with an explanation, claiming the insanity of her attacker that caused a brow to raise in suspicion. She'd never known anyone that was mental to have much of a sense of humor. However, before she could get any further answers the kid had bolted backwards and before she could stop them, the skeleton had moved. No, that wasn't accurate. She'd blinked and somehow made it past her wall without moving an inch. Cursing under her breath, Winter reacted before she had time to think, dragging another wall of ice over the kid to take the brunt of the blast. She didn't know what was going on, but that was still a child, wasn't it? She couldn't just stand there and watch a murder, it wasn't in her nature. "Chill, huh? You've got an itchy trigger finger for someone that claims to be innocent." She surmised, a low reminder that he was in public and could be in a lot of trouble legally if other people happened to stumble onto what was happening. "Hey, you!" Winter called out to the shady young man across from her. "You want to help? Grab the kid. If they are in danger, they don't need to be wandering the streets alone. Besides,... There's something about this that don't add up and I got some questions for them." She instructed seriously, hoping that he would simply comply with the order and not bother to give her a bigger headache than this situation had already turned out to be. @ Chara, Sans, & Aesop MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Of course getting bossed to by this woman who he didn't even know made him frown and smack his lips, "Geez, who croaked and made you queen?" But never the less he obliged looking to the kid running off. Instead of chasing, he stepped back into the shadow of a tree behind him and strangely they seemed to wrap around him and darken before snaking down to the child and wrapping around her feet. Just because she was a child didn't mean he was gonna be nice about it, she was still human. "Relax, just gonna have the mean lady over there talk with you and your boyfriend." This situation turned out less fun than he thought but it's not boring atleast. But this was still wierd, he guessed it was a lover's quarrel or maybe just a disagreement turning reeeaaaly sour but he never thought it would go to trading blows, somebody could get hurt like that or worse.

Chara ran away as fast as she could. She didn’t see the ice wall but she heard it crushing and a huge energy beam coming her way when she looked over her shoulder. She was about to dodge when suddenly she tripped. How good the ground was a bit uneven or else she might have been seriously hurt by the blast. Being saved by somebody making her trip. How ironic…
She listened to the man. So she had to go back to Sans and the others… unless… she had a sudden brainstorm what she could do. It didn’t show though because then a malicious smirk would have been painted on her face. Instead she shivered, her eyes were widened and her voice filled with fear: ”No! Please…” she looked down on the ground, visible shaking: ”He wants to kill me!” too bad she didn’t know about the murders that had happened. She could have easily pinned those on Sans now… So that’s what she could do… waiting how they reacted… If the man would force her to go to that woman, she wouldn’t fight back. Oh no, not with witnesses unless all of them were out for her blood.
In the worst case scenario, she would have to kill all three of them. Which would be unfortunate since it was so hard to dispose of human corpses…

The woman tried to block his attack, but it was a feeble attempt, the beam of pure energy shattered the ice with ease and headed straight for the fleeing child. She commented on him having an itchy trigger before she barked orders at the man on the other side of the fight. From the corner of his eye, he saw the man melt into shadow after the complaining a bit. With his attack through and energy drained the skeleton fought the urge just to fall over and take a nap. He remained watching until the steam from his attack hitting the ice wall dissipated enough for him to see that Chara was on the ground and unscathed by his attack. Whatever happened now was out of his bony fingers as he was too exhausted to help if they decided to attack the two unnamed people. He looked at the woman who seemed like she wanted to take control of the situation.
* i never said i was innocent, but you might want to put the 'kid' on ice. i doubt tellin 'em to freeze would do much to keep them from pulling a knife.
Oh boy, would be enjoying his own puns more if he wasn't faced with the fact that the demon was still sucking air. Sans didn't find the need to delve into details on why he attacked and was not feeling up to trying to explain his motives. He heard the kid beg not to go back, shouting that he wanted to kill them. Well, there was no denying that. He had a significant amount of unsettled beef with the little manipulator that no amount of fake crying would change. His hands slipped into his jacket pockets, and he shifted his weight to keep from falling over. Sitting sounded like a good plan, but he remained on his feet waiting and internally dreading what was coming next.
