Chara’s red eyes flashed for a moment when her knife slit Winter’s right thigh. However the stance this woman entered now made the murderer tense her body for what was about to come. Her strategy was simple yet effective. Trying to dodge and block, only taking hits in areas she didn’t really need. She hadn’t died at least a dozen times against Undyne and Sans for nothing! These ice shards that had been thrown in a desperate attempt were dodged while she slashed at the ice daggers. Of course while Chara was taking good care of her body, the hits were extremely close so her sweater looked badly torn. Well, nothing she couldn’t fix…
Suddenly something cracked behind her. Oh right, there was that ice wall… one of those ice walls. What if…. she dashed to the side, yet one of the shards hit her lower left arm. Such pain… the sleeve was ruined. It sliced her part of her skin so blood came out. Well, on the plus side, she could just use that sleeve as a bandage when she was done here. Was it normal that she couldn’t feel her left hand? Maybe that thing had hit her harder than she thought…
Not paying much attention to that wound, the murderer dashed at Winter again, pretending to slash at her body so she could cut one of those daggers she had created with her hands. Creating a new ice dagger would hopefully delay her so she would attack in a wild fury to hit her hands and arms. Chara wouldn’t kill Winter… no, just weaken her so she could get out of here.

Winter had to give Chara credit, they were incredibly light on their feet, a trait that was proving more troublesome than she had expected. She might have been impressed, if she hadn't been gambling with her own life against a potential murderer. Where the daggers had failed though, her little trick with the wall had proven more effective, leaving the kid weak on their left side. Ice was not something that many people gave a lot of thought to as an element, unaware of how jagged it's composition was on a microscopic level and the effects that it had when it was forced into a flesh covered body, against cells that were far more susceptible to temperature change. Frostbite couldn't kill on it's own, but as the incident with Shady had shown, it could still be incredibly painful. Chara managed to bury the pain, however, as Winter had little time to celebrate her success as their blades clashed, blocking the initial slash. The ice dagger held for a few seconds, however, before there was a distinct cracking within the ice that immediately sent the hybrid into a retreat as the weapon shattered and Chara continued their assault. She was able to retreat a few steps, and attempted to could summon another blade, but a sharp pain suddenly radiated down to her thigh as Winter's weight fell on her right leg and caused her to nearly collapse to the ground. It was that brief moment that allowed Chara's dagger to shred through the sleeve of her jacket, cutting through frozen fabric and flesh as blood poured from her left shoulder and lower arm that had been raised in defense. It probably wouldn't kill her, but it hurt like hell and it sent Winter stumbling back against the brick wall, her breathing ragged and fighting against the pain. Her soul thrummed in her chest as her right hand retreated to the injury, the blood the now flowed slowly freezing and leaving a thin layer of ice to cover the terrible wound. It wasn't pretty, but it would stop the blood flow for the moment, though her left arm would be more of a hindrance now. To her own surprise though, Winter found herself suddenly laughing a bit in amusement at their antics given the situation, neither able to bring themselves to go for the vitals and more content to slice each other to pieces first, rather than just end it. "You should have been aiming to kill. There's only a few ways that those walls are coming down and so long as I'm drawing breath, you're trapped here, brat." Winter spoke calmly, her natural vindictiveness rearing it's head with full force as she managed to smile through the pain. Dropping to her right knee, her right hand rested against the ice-covered ground, resorting to something that she hadn't planned on using. Ice was unique among the elements, limited only by the vision and ingenuity of it's creator, that was what Winter had grown up learning. Now, she would put the belief into practice, in a last ditch effort to turn this fight around. From the water and frost that now surrounded Winter, twisted into existence what could only be described as the form of a large dragon's maw, that hovered a few inches off the ground and quickly launched itself forward. It's fangs snapped at the child in pursuit, intent on driving them back, as a series of icy spike rose from the ground and smaller walls shot upward and back towards the other wall, threatening to smash the child between the frozen surfaces or into the mouth of the nasty beast that Winter had conjured. Sadly, it wasn't without cost, her breathing continued to grow more uneven and ragged with every ounce of magic that it took to control a creation of that size. "Not yet." She spoke softly, a silent prayer and gentle plea. Winter could still do this, she just needed a little more time. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Stupid half blood. Human determination combined with a flashy monster power… the demon girl was disgusted by humans yet fascinated by monsters. Actually, before she had been betrayed by her brother, she would have done anything to become a monster herself.
Well, she had become a monster, literally speaking. She felt that this ice attack had kind of struck her left arm yet… it wasn’t of much importance. She’d go to a hospital… hey, those would be helping her, right? Enough thoughts for later, for now she delivered one deadly slash after another and finally, she hit Winter again. Oh, so much blood. Her eyes flashed yet again. Too bad that killing her would stop her in the long run because for her audacity, she would have deserved to die.
Oh, would you listen to her! Normally she killed with extreme prejudice but for her… she would let her suffer. Even if she risked getting hit by a special attack.
And would you look at that, her opponent was as predictable as she thought. A mouth that reminded the murderer of a Gaster Blaster, only made of ice. Chara jumped back only to see an ice wall. Oh great… with spikes. And that thing… she had to back off if she wanted to live. Yet even more walls were coming her way. And she reached a brick wall with some trash cans. And even more ice walls. For a moment she stood still before she suddenly jumped on a trash can, followed by a wall jump to land on top of the spiked ice wall. Running on the top for a moment, she jumped yet on top of another one when the ice dragon mouth came dangerously close.
Chara jumped down, giving the upper jaw a good slice before dashing through the rest, right at Winter.
She was especially wary when the woman got in her field of view… what if she had yet another trick up her sleeve? The chocolate bandit casually walked to a spot where she could see the ice mouth and Winter…
”You trapped and tried to kill me.” she pointed her knife in a threatening manner at the woman. ”Let me go or… I’m forced to kill you.” that actually sounded kind of regretful. What could be the meaning of this?

This was bad. As Winter's form remained on the ground, a soft cold mist rose from the uneven pants as she watched the child avoid her assault and trying to hide the slight trembling that echoed through her muscles from exhaustion. There was no way that she could keep this up. Normally, she excelled in close quarters combat, but that was against normal humans, not demonic hell spawn with magic knives that could cut through her ice blades, like they were glass. Forced into fighting at long range and on a much larger scale of magical constructs than she was accustomed to, Winter was quickly depleting her magic at a rate that was reaching a dangerous level. She could feel the weight of the crack as the blade sliced through the dragon's lower jaw, though it did not shatter quite as easy, it seemed to slow as Chara began to circle like some kind of demented vulture. The kid's words though, earned another amused bit of laughter at the threat. "That almost sounded a little hesitant." Winter admitted sarcastically, allowing the long blonde bangs to fall into her eyes as her expression faltered into something more serious. Truth be told, she'd been aware of this potential outcome from the beginning, so she had no one to blame for her own recklessness. "You think that I wasn't aware of that possibility when I brought you here? I told you before, that I wouldn't stand by and watch other people get killed. I'll do everything in my power to protect them, regardless of the outcome... So, go ahead, because the moment I fall, I'm going to make sure I drag you down with me before you can hurt anyone else." She explained seriously, those deep blue eyes filling with determination and resolve to die before she those icy walls came down by choice. The hybrid was stubborn, to an evident fault, but oddly enough, Winter couldn't bring herself to regret her actions. After all, she didn't have the heart to watch anyone else die, so leaving behind a plan to make sure Chara couldn't hurt anyone else was enough to ensure that her death wasn't without meaning. *You feel your sins crawling on your back.
651 A single silhouette was poised watching the interaction below. The hooded figure was barely visible against the clouded sky. He could see everything from his vantage point, Winter practically begging the demon to give her a reason to SPARE while knowing well that it was a futile attempt. The child had run and been blocked off quickly. Again, the halfbreed yuki-onna wanted to have a reason not to fight. Chara just laughed. With judgment, he knew the child thought the investigator a fool through the twisted sound. But their movements, they were off.
From where he stood watching and waiting he could tell that Chara wanted more time to prepare and was making an attempt to maim rather than kill. It was different from what he used to. He had only known the beast to murder mercilessly. Was the child having second thoughts? No. His judgment was never wrong. They still planned on carrying out genocide; only they had decided it was not time yet. They were holding back purposefully. What was their plan? If they were holding back, it meant they knew they were outmatched in the long run. What plan did they think they could have to exterminate all life?
Skeletal hands were clenched within the pockets of the blue hooded jacket. He was told to wait for the signal. He could end it quickly now. All he would have to do was hold the child down by turning them blue while giving them a blaster to the face. He would throw in a few bones through the heart for good measure. He knew using that much magic at once had a high probability of killing him from trauma, but it would be worth it. But he made a rare promise to hold back and wait. It was painful for him to watch his friend fight the demon just as he had with the others of the underground before Frisk set them all free. Despite the painful memories and intense dislike for promises, he waited for Winter to call on him or wait until she was down. He wouldn't wait that long, the two of them would get out of there alive. Sans would make sure of it even if he had to break that promise. He never was good at keeping those things.
He watched, eyes dark as the investigator took several hits from that blade. The skeleton couldn't wait any longer. Patience was one of his best features, but this, it called for action. He turned away from the edge to look at the men who were waiting behind him. Six men on the roof and six on the other across the alley. They had gotten into position while Winter tried her best to get rid of the kid. Sans liked them a bit without really knowing them. They didn't ask questions when it came to a job and didn't try to understand when he told them it was a murdering demon and not a child that they were going after.
* sorry to ruin your fun, kid. i have to be taking your toy away now before you break it beyond repair.
Suddenly, he appeared behind Winter, all four blasters charged and aimed straight at the murderer. Well, he just broke his promise. Too bad so sad, it was as expected. He put his bony hands on winter's shoulders and teleported as the blasters let loose. With the girl safely on the roof and under a small overhang above the rooftop exit, the firing squad rained hot iron alloy from above. Once they exhausted their ammunition, he'd go back down. Sans was positive that Chara would find a way to avoid the barrage but for now, he dug out a roll of gauze out of his jacket pocket and quickly started to bind Winter's wounds without saying a word.

So here they were. In the white corner, having a wounded, left shoulder and arm: Winter. In the black corner, slowly getting frostbite in her left arm, knife in hand: Chara. The murderer smirked. It’s all that was left for her to do. Her left hand was put inside her pocket as if it was trying to press something. Still, her attention was fully on the ice woman.
”We can still reach a compromise that doesn’t involve killing you.” even though… Chara’s eyes were flashing red for a moment. It was such a shame. There her victim was, in a beautiful color combination… blood did really suit her well. And much to her satisfaction, Winter remained stubborn.
”Right. Let us continue until you beg me to end you, half blood.” the murderer was still so disgusted when she thought about that. How? How could a monster and a human…
Sans was here? Sans was HERE?! Good. ”How cute. Two victims trying to kill me.” Not only had he given himself away instead of just attacking her from behind, in fact Sans would help her escape. Chara took a few steps back and to the right…
Her eyes were on the ice woman when Sans suddenly appeared and prepared his Gaster Blasters. Since she knew his attacks inside and out, she jumped up spun around and let herself fall on the ground, spread-eagled, supporting her weight with her knees and her right armso she wouldn’t smack her head or body. Or that wounded left arm. As expected the Blasters fired at the position where she had been jumping. They missed her completely. Was that all? No! Suddenly she heard gun fire and started to use that to her advantage.
Quickly getting up, the choco bandit jolted at the ice wall, wall jumping and spinning around, making herself as small as she could... these guys should really work on their aim... or better not, after all, she was still alive. Soon the ice cracked and a small hole was created. Chara jumped through before the ice wall collapsed.
She ran as fast as she could through the dark alleyway, sweat pouring out of every inch of her skin. She was completely soaked. From the rain, from her sweat, from this fight... There was a door leading inside a building… ’It’s not locked, it’s not locked, it’s not locked…’ she frantically thought before she grabbed the handle and… it was locked. That gave her an idea. Her red knife was still covered with blood. She hadn’t noticed that some had dripped from it on the ground, creating a trail that was slowly washed away by the rain. She smeared some of the blood on the handle before holding the knife close to her sweater before running again. When she reached another door that led into a basement, she had more luck: It was open, Chara slipped through, closed it, locked it and ran to the stairs. This seemed to be an apartment house… a very old apartment house since the stairs were made of wood… and there was space behind them. The murderer hid there, sitting down and breathing heavily.

Well, it had finally happened. Everyone had always said that this was how she would go. Winter had shot her mouth off to the wrong person and she was about to die for it, though any doubts about Chara's intentions that may have lingered, seemed to shrivel up as the brat threatened her once more, this time with something far more sadistic than outright murder - slow torture. The words were enough to make the blood run cold, as the possibility of torture had never crossed Winter's mind and a silent fear crept up in her chest when it became clear exactly how alone she was in this alleyway. Fortunately, there were few that witnessed the hesitation and terror that played out in Winter's mind as Sans made his presence known, much to Chara's apparent displeasure at the threat of having her fun stolen. Winter was still shaking a bit to hard to realize that Sans had appeared behind her and only when he placed his bony hands on her shoulders, did she grow still, offering no resistance as the world around them suddenly changed and they reappeared on the nearby rooftop with a whole new perspective on the situation. "Sans?" She spoke softly, her attention turning over her shoulder in confusion as the skeleton moved to help bandages her wounds. Winter had so much that she wanted to say to him, but her words failed her in that moment. She wanted to be mad at him for breaking his promise, for stepping in and going after Chara, but Winter never got the chance. There was no time to ask why or how. She flinched lightly as the shots of gunfire tore through the alleyway, her own imagination capable of filling in the blanks of what would happen next as the bandages wound their way around her left shoulder. The thin layer of ice had melted and the bleeding looked worse than it was, but she wasn't going to bleed out any time soon. Although, passing out didn't seem impossible given how tired she was. A hand slid onto his as Sans' tried to wrap the wounds, leaning in a little closer for whatever warmth could be gained in her freezing state. "I'm so sorry, Sans." Winter apologized profusely, unaware that her icy hands were shaking from the near-death experience. She looked almost in tears and rested her head against his shoulder in an attempt not to cling to close, when right now all Winter wanted to do was hold on to something solid to remind her that she was still alive, despite the close brush with death. How could this be happening? The gunfire eventually died down and that sick feeling returned to the pit of her stomach as her fingers coiled around bone, aware that if she let go, Sans was going to check what remained of the kid and finish them off. What if the guns hadn't worked? What if the kid had slipped away again? What if they were just waiting for them to chase after them? She'd seen what the kid could do now, and she wasn't certain that monster abilities were going to be enough to stop Chara. "Sans....please don't go?" The detective begged hoarsely, scared beyond sense as her hand coiled into his jacket. Even so, she knew what fate awaited Sans if he left the rooftops and it was a thought that scared Winter more than she wanted to admit. They couldn't win. No matter how many of them died, Chara wasn't going to stop, and she'd been a fool, one that could now get her friend killed if she let him pursue the kid alone. "You promised, not to be reckless." She reminded him softly, pleading for Sans to change his mind, even if Winter knew in her heart that it was pointless to even ask. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

*You feel your sins crawling on your back.
562 As he was wrapping the large gash on her shoulder, his hand was grabbed. He noted that she was shaking. He knew the feeling well, staring down that thing while they prepared to kill. It wasn't a good feeling; that was for sure. But now, she clung to his jacket which made it very hard for him to get her wounds to stop bleeding. Sans needed her to let go so he could finish with her wounds before he confronted Chara himself. She begged him not to face Chara and to stay with her and reminding him of his promise.
* the thing about that, heh, i don't do well with promises.
He pulled his jacket off, it being well insulated kept the inside dry, and draped it over her before beginning to pry her arms off of him. Once he had her off, he waved over one of the mafia men to take care of her.
* i'll be back, give me five minutes. i'll admit though, it might be a bit reckless.
Sans had a new plan. One he hated but hoped it would solve all the problems. He stood and backed away. The skeleton wouldn't be surprised if his plan didn't work but he decided he wasn't going to hold the kid down with magic but instead something more drastic was needed. Leaving the roof, he appeared down in the now demolished arena. One of the ice walls was crumbling, and bullets were embedded in the ground and the buildings to either side of the narrow alley. Chara was nowhere to be found. Another quick teleport put him on the other side of the broken ice mound. They weren't around. There wasn't enough time for them to get out of the alley completely, so his attention turned to the doors. With a quick look, he noted the blood that had been smeared on one of the knobs. It was messy but almost deliberate. The kid wouldn't be so dumb as to make such a mistake.
It came to mind that the demon child would be hiding in the shadows, trying to make it harder to find them. He moved along the building's edge. The kid had to go into one of the doors and he wasn't about to fall for the decoy.
* come on out, kid. we need to have a talk. leave your knife and i won't use my magic. if you have any human left in ya, bud, you'll come out. if i have to come after ya, you'll have a bad time.
The judge spoke loud enough for the child to hear him. Why was he doing this? Taking a page from Frisk in dealing with enemies. The idea made him feel sick. He didn't want to do it. To show MERCY to the demon that caused him so much pain and just tried to kill his newest friend not even three minutes before. But they couldn't win, not without more people getting hurt along the way. The demon had too much LV and attacking one at a time was just as bad as a bad action flick.
Determination ran him at that moment. Either they could come with a shaky truce, or they would both die there in the rain.

Underneath the stairs, Chara was breathing. In and out, in and out, in and out... calming down. She had just survived a deadly situation and badly injured that stupid ice woman. Speaking of ice, Chara looked at her left arm. Stupid ice. She could still move her left hand but the way the ice shard stuck in there... she would need some bandages, chocolate and some rest to make it better...
Suddenly she raised her head. It was Sans... and how he spoke. Seriously, did he picture her THAT dumb? She should leave her knife? So she would be completely defenseless? Not that she couldn't take on skeleton dork, even in her current state. But he had that ice woman with her and people with GUNS. You simply don't bring a knife to a gun fight.
The murderer got up. She was in a basement. The door was closed. Fine, that wasn't an obstacle for Sans. Still, she wouldn't go out. Instead she hid her knife underneath a part of the wodden floor. Then Chara walked up the stairs. Why was each step getting harder? The ice was slowly melting, dripping on the stairs. Maybe she could break in somewhere? Or knock? Asking for help? An idea was formulating.
She got to the groundfloor. Gasping she passed by the door of an apartment and opened the door leading inside. Sans would probably see a door opening.
The chocolate bandit walked backwards, stopping at the door bell of said apartment, waiting for Sans. Holding her left arm, she tried to come of as defenseless.

Winter felt her heart sink into her stomach as Sans spoke, relenting as the warmth fell across her shoulders. The detective had almost forgotten how she must have looked in that moment, soaked clean to the bone, bloodied, battered and with her hoodie in tatters from the fight. The sensation came as a welcome relief, even if the chill had not been the reason for her shaking, though it brought no comfort as another presence appeared at her side and Sans asked for five minutes before blinking out of sight.
At that moment, she felt numb from the adrenaline that had previously coursed through her veins, leaving Winter exhausted and her limbs feeling heavy. She didn't put up a fight as the hybrid felt herself scooped up bridal style in preparation to get her somewhere safer. What was she suppose to do? She'd tried every possible way imaginable to draw out some sense of reason from the brat. They wouldn't listen, so what were the odds that Sans results would turn out any differently. Not that Winter didn't have faith in her friend, but in her current state of fear, all her mind could process was the worst possible outcome.
"Winter...... Winter!" A sharp voice cut in through earpiece, as Winter raised a hand to stop their movements and earning a few looks from the others that now looked on in concern. Then again, perhaps, she couldn't blame them as she looked a right mess.
"What is it?" She questioned curiously, her mind slowly climbing back from the haze as she perked up a bit.
"Hey, someone must have overheard the gunfire. The cops are on their way and we need to move, now!" He informed in a tone that was filled with haste and it was this news that made Winter straighten up with a curse, partly out of panic and the other because it had pulled at her bandaged arm.
"Bloody hell, someone go get him before we all get arrested!" Winter barked in concern, as a couple of them nodded in approval and confusion. "Don't look at me like that! I know what he said, but we don't have five minutes and I don't care if you have to drag him back here kicking and putting up a fight, just grab him and let's go... And whatever you do, don't let go of him! He can teleport if you don't hold on tight!" She added, wanting to make sure they understood what kind of trouble they would be dealing and while Sans would probably be upset with her, it was better than letting him get taken to jail and having to bribe a few dirty cops to ensure the case was dropped. Besides, Monsters didn't need any more bad press.
While the remaining moved to take the injured hybrid to the waiting van, a pair of men slid down the nearby fire escape and entered the alleyway, following his path to the open door. Slipping in quietly, it was here the two men found him, offering little explanation as they both moved forward without warning and proceeded to each grab an arm to haul Sans up with them. "Sorry, buddy, cops are coming. You can settle the score later, time to vamoose." One of them explained, as they snatched him up and began to attempt to carry him back towards the door into the waiting vehicle, being careful to keep a hand on him as they had been instructed. Both were sure that the skeleton would have a few choice words for them later, but right orders were orders and he could sort out any personal disagreement with Winter once this was all over. *You feel your sins crawling on your back.
630 The rain was soaking his shirt, causing it to cling to the skeletal ribs. It was a good thing that he didn't have skin or he might have been cold, one of the benefits to his 'breed' of monster. After a minute of silence he let out a sigh, it was looking as if he was going to have to fight after all. Movement caught his attention, though, and he turned to see a door swinging shut. So the demon was coming out after all? With caution, he started toward where the door was. It was in a rundown building that seemed like it might have been a shady low-budget apartment complex. Of course, the kid was trying to get him to a populated area for witnesses. But he found the kid attempting to look innocent, their knife not visible. [attr="class","sans"]* you've caused me a lot of problems, kid, a lot more pain then you can fathom. we both know you're hurt and wouldn't last ina full out brawl with me. Sans was starting to have doubts on if the kid would accept mercy or keep playing dumb even with him being fully rested and ready for a fight and with armed men waiting to take them out if they stepped foot out of the building without him. He kept his distance from the kid, still cautious that they would pull some trick to try to hit him. Before he had the chance to offer his plan for a truce the door flung open. Two of the mafia men entered before grabbing ahold of him. One of the men apologized and mentioned the cops, but the skeleton didn't care about the police at that moment. [attr="class","sans"]* 'ey get offa me! His protests weren't much to make the men stop dragging him away but with a bit of maneuvering with the added slickness that the water gave him, he managed to slip his left arm out of one guy's grasp. With it he pointed at Chara, eyes dark in warning as the Judge spoke. * If your LV goes up, if you gain even a single EXP, I will hunt you down and end you. After his chilling warning to the child, he put up no more resistance as he was hauled off to the van. Why did Winter feel it was necessary to pull him away at such an inconvenient time? It was probably more than the cops that were worrying her, but that didn't make the annoyance any less. He needed to finish it and once again Winter had inadvertently gotten in the way for some reason. He couldn't be outright angry at her as she didn't fully know what Chara had done, and he wasn't about to let her know it. On top of that, he couldn't get mad at someone who reminded him so much of his brother. He remained silent well after they had gotten him into the van, one of the men still had a grip on his right arm so teleporting wasn't an option unless the skeleton wanted to take the guy with him and put an 'innocent' in the path of danger. So he resulted in silently sulking while still dripping wet. What was he going to do now that he was forced to let Chara go without an answer? He highly doubted that the kid would listen to his warning, though, they were trying to run instead of fight Winter at first. Were they changing? If that was the case, why start now? Why start after killing so many monsters just for fun? He tried not to think about that too much as he could hear the sirens in the distance. *on days like these, kids like you...Should be burning in hell

Chara snorted: ”Wanna bet?” she would take him on if the circumstances were better. However it would be stupid for both of them to fight… the inhabitants would be alerted, there would be witnesses. As much as Sans was powerful, he was predictable and got exhausted rather easily. A grin showed on her face when she remembered their last encounter.
”You do that already.” it wasn’t like she had done anything bad. His ice girlfriend was still alive even though she would have so wished to kill her. And him. And the rest of humanity.
The chocolate bandit waited until Sans was gone, then she would sneak back into the basement. She had seen a first-aid kit somewhere…
